I'm a sucker for Highlight/Record Breaker cards; always liked them, always will.
In a particularly good year for highlights, I like Garry Templeton's best. Getting a 100 hits from both sides of the plate -- and a league-leading 211 overall -- is pretty amazing and being the first to do it is, well, historic. He was, in a word, underrated.

Typical Topps Newspaper Format, which I like even if the writing and capitalization at times are weird.

Nice shot from Wrigley, capturing his follow through and a little dust kicked up from his spikes.

You would've thought Templeton's '79 season resulted in an All-Star Game start but it didn't; Larry Bowa got the nod.
Because he wasn't voted to start and added as a reserve, Templeton skipped the game and the quote "If I ain't startin', I ain't departin'' was attributed to him, but it turns out he never actually said it.
His antics and quotes often overshadowed his talent. ... In order to achieve 100 hits right-handed, he got his last six right-handed against right-handers.
